CSHL is a research and educational institution. The laboratory has research programs focusing on cancer, neurobiology, plant genetics, genomics and bioinformatics, and a broad educational mission, including the recently established Watson School of Biological Sciences. Responsibilities include overseen the external site http://www.cshl.edu and Internal site. Worked with Linux System Administrators to establish a new web infrastructure for the organization. This infrastructure is based on a three-tier architecture composed of a web server, application server and a database server. Responsibilities include installation, setup and maintenance of the Python Application Server Skunkweb and the PostgreSQL database server. This three-tier system was built on the following environments: Development, Staging and Production. Installed and Setup a CVS server to work on these three environments for versioning control of the websites. Built the following applications using Python as the main programming language; designed and built the RDBMS data model in PostgreSQL; used the Water Fall model software life cycle to deliver the following products: Intranet Database Driven Online Staff Directory w/Photos, Online Content Management Tools for Human Resources to maintain the staff directory, online scientific surveys for the lab, among others. Started testing Zope in the development server as an alternative Content Management for the Lab. Currently Working on building a log analysis server to generate statistics reports for the different sites on the network. Provided access for individual departments to maintain their own sites. Manage a group of two developers. Provided Virtual Hosting for individual laboratory websites. Recently implemented automated Web Traffic Analysis for all CSHL websites using WebTrends Analytics Software.

Platform Engineering group. Designed data model and built Oracle data base for a web based bug tracking software for the QA team as a solution replacement for the existing software ( Magic Bug Tracking ) . This web based issue tracking system was built with the Python application server constructed in house. Platform engineering group. Structured Periscopio's product architecture to produce a portal that serves its content as a co-brand platform for SM Mobile's wireless clients. Among the co-branded clients were: Movilnet ( Venezuela ), Codetel ( Dom. Rep ), Comcel ( Colombia ), Bell South ( Ecuador ) and Bell South ( Chile ). The primary programming language used for this project was Python; which allowed a fast development and deployment of the product. The technology was a three tier architecture, which consisted of an application server, a Python/RDBMS object layer and Oracle as the backend database server. Responsibilities included development and maintenance of these products, generated programs for database statistic reports for web site registered users, developed a management web based tool for content editors and managers to update the site. Wrote XML parser to populate the horoscopes database; wrote cron jobs for system administration.
